🎠U.S. Premiere of Baruch’s Silence Opens Muffled Voices Festival in MarylandOn November 22, 2025, at the Maryland Theatre (Hagerstown, MD), Lyrica Classic launches the second season of its acclaimed Muffled Voices Festival with the U.S. premiere of Baruch’s Silence by Israeli composer Ella Milch-Sheriff.
Based on her father’s Holocaust diary, this one-act chamber opera explores silence, inherited trauma, and the fragile path toward healing. Since its world premiere at Staatstheater Braunschweig in 2010, it has moved audiences across Europe — and now arrives on an American stage for the first time.
The production is led by director Elizaveta Korneeva, conductor Daiana Hoffmann, and designer Julia Orlova, with a cast of international soloists including Hermine Haselböck, Jonathan Patton, Kyle van Schoonhoven, and Yulia Petrachuk.
Performed in German with English supertitles, the evening concludes with a post-show reception to celebrate the festival’s second season.
