About this Event

Who is Alianza NORCO?
Alianza NORCO (Northern Colorado Alliance) began in 2017 as an immigrant-led, grassroots movement driven by the vision of dedicated community members who sought to expand immigration advocacy and services in Northern Colorado. What started as a small initiative has grown into a thriving nonprofit with a team of full-time staff, a wide network of community partners, and a proven track record of impactful advocacy. Today, Alianza NORCO stands as the only nonprofit in the region offering free immigration legal representation alongside wrap-around support such as bilingual navigation services, health insurance enrollment, and culturally responsive peer mental health programming. Beyond direct services, the organization has advanced meaningful legislative wins, including expanding access to driver’s licenses regardless of legal status and helping establish local and state legal defense funds, ensuring immigrants are more fully integrated, supported, and empowered throughout Colorado.
Why a Fundraiser?
Alianza NORCO will be hosting a special fundraiser this November on Día de los Muertos, a cherished tradition across Hispanic cultures that honors and celebrates the lives of loved ones who have passed. This day is not only about remembrance, but also about embracing the richness of our heritage and the resilience of our communities. All proceeds from the event will go directly toward covering immigration filing fees—an expense that many vulnerable community members struggle to afford. In these crucial times, Alianza is committed to standing alongside our immigrant families and ensuring they have the support needed to continue building their lives with dignity and security.
What is the Muertos Crawl?
The Muertos Crawl is a community celebration in the heart of Fort Collins Square where culture, tradition, and local businesses come together to honor Día de los Muertos. Each participating business becomes a stop on our community lotería (or scavenger hunt) card, inviting attendees to visit and engage with the rich symbolism of the holiday. Every stop will feature an altar (ofrenda), a powerful representation of remembrance and celebration for loved ones who have passed. Businesses that serve alcohol will host tequila tastings, while others will provide non-alcoholic drinks, food, or small samples to showcase their offerings. As participants make their way through the crawl, they mark their lotería card, and once it’s filled, they’ll be entered into raffles happening at different stops throughout the evening. The Muertos Crawl is more than just an event, it’s an opportunity for our community to come together, support local businesses, and celebrate a tradition that highlights love, memory, and culture.
