MtG Secret Draft 2nd Edition @ St Oswald's Community Centre
About this Event
We are back after a very successful first edition of this event back in June!
You can expect an afternoon of Magic: The Gathering draft in a relaxed environment, featuring secret booster sets, a premium pod, multiple prize tiers, and all proceeds supporting St Oswald's Community Centre right here in Edinburgh. This year, we will also have a dedicated space for our younger ones to learn and play!
The event will take place in St Oswald's North Hall.

🎲 The Secret Draft Format
You won't know which set you're drafting until you sit down at your table. We've curated a selection of booster boxes, all excellent draft experiences.
How it works:
- When you check in, you'll draw a token to discover your table assignment
- Arrive at your table to find a covered box
- The reveal happens together - discover which set your pod will be drafting!
- Top 2 players from each pod advance to finals where decks from different sets clash
The event is capped at three 8-players pods (24 players in total) for the secret draft format.
👑 The Premium Pod
We are introducing a new drafting option for this edition! A separate pod will draft a premium set.
For this event, the set will be 🥁🥁🥁...drum roll... 🥁🥁🥁Time Spiral Remastered!
How it works:
- If you have purchased a ticket for this draft, you will be directed to the premium pod when you arrive
- The top 2 players from this pod will also advance to the finals where decks from different sets will clash
The event runs if we reach 8-players. If we don't, we will convert into a regular ticket for the secret draft and refund the price difference.
📋 Important 📋
The event runs with minimum 16 players. If we don't reach this threshold by 12 September, all tickets will be fully refunded.
Dedicated space for younger players. We will be providing a table and some decks for our younger ones to learn and/or play Magic at no additional cost.
Light refreshments will be available. To support the fundraiser, you will find warm beverages (coffee, tea) and cake at very reasonable prices.

🏆 Three Ways to Win
1. Pod Prizes (during Swiss rounds)
- 1st place: 3 booster packs
- 2nd place: 2 booster packs
- 3rd place: 1 booster pack
2. Championship Finals (top 2 from each pod)
- Prize pool scales with attendance (6 x number of 8-people pods in booster packs + something special for the ultimate Champion)
- Quarterfinals & semifinals: Best-of-1 (win or go home!)
- Final match: Best-of-3 for the championship
- Prizes for top 3
3. The Raffle Throughout the day we're running a raffle with stretch goal prizes. As more tickets are sold, more prizes are added to the pool:
- Base tier: Booster packs from the draft boxes
- £25 in sales: playmats and accessories unlocked!
- £50 in sales: card prizes added
- £100+ in sales: Grand prize tier revealed
Every participant starts with 1 ticket. Additional tickets are £1 each, available all day until the final drawing (held after Swiss rounds). During the run-up to the event we'll share more details on the prizes themselves
