🏛️ Magic: The Gathering Sealed League – Official Rules📅 League Duration & Schedule
Start Date: August 23
End Date: November 8
Start Time Each Match Day: 12:00 PM
Matches: Every other Saturday – Up to 3 scored matches per session
Note: League duration may alter by a week or two based on other store events or major MTG releases/events.
🗓️ League Structure
(5) 1v1 Matches across the league
(1) Two-Headed Giant match
Final Day Twist – Point Stealing: After each match on the final day, roll 1d3 to steal that many points from your opponent. If they have no points, none are stolen.
💰 Entry & Sealed Pool
Initial Fee: $60
Bi-Weekly Fee: $10
Includes: 6 booster packs from Standard-legal sets to start
Players must choose a different set for each booster — no duplicates
Players build a 40-card minimum deck using only cards from their sealed pool
Basic lands provided by the store
🔁 Progression System
Each week, players receive 1 additional booster pack to add to their sealed pool
At the halfway point, each player receives 2 additional booster packs
Pity Pack Rule: After 3 consecutive losses, a player may purchase 1 extra booster to strengthen their deck
Decks may be rebuilt anytime using the updated sealed pool
🧩 Deck Construction Rules
40-card minimum deck
Use only cards from your sealed pool
Sideboard = all remaining cards from your pool
Decks must be stored on-site in a store-provided or personal deck box
Decks may not leave the store until the league ends to prevent outside alterations
⚔️ Match Rules
Format: Best-of-3
Match Cap: Up to 3 scored matches per bi-weekly session
Pairings handled by store staff
Casual games can be played anytime
Scoring:
Win = 3 points
Draw = 1 point each
Loss or No-show = 0 points
👑 “King of the Hill” Rule
The player with the highest total score at the end of each match day is crowned “The King.”
The first player to defeat The King on the following match day will net a bonus booster (not added to their sealed pool).
🧠 Fair Play & Integrity
All booster packs must be opened in-store and verified by staff
No trading between league players
No outside cards allowed in sealed pools
Respect all players and staff — cheating or poor sportsmanship may result in disqualification
🏆 End of League Awards
1st Place: Store credit (amount based on participation)
2nd Place: Store credit (amount based on participation)
Last Place: Store credit (amount based on participation)
All Players: Receive (3) WPN promos for participating (not event-specific)
All Cards: You keep everything you open once the league ends
