Join us at Cape Fear Games for Magic Presents: Open the Archive, a four-week Magic: The Gathering league that brings a fresh twist to Sealed Draft. This event invites players to dive into Secrets of Strixhaven, draft powerful Mystical Archive cards, and compete across the season for prizes, league points, and collectible rewards. League runs every Tuesday from May 26th to June 16th at 6:30 PM.
Date & Time: Tuesdays, May 26th - June 16th at 6:30 PM
Entry Fee: $20
Capacity: Capped at 24 players per week
Format: Sealed Draft, 3 Swiss rounds each week, with cumulative league points across the 4-week season
Prizes:
Weekly:
- 1.5 packs per player go into the prize pool and are paid out based on standings
- The players who finish each draft undefeated (or as first place if there are no undefeated players) receive a blind-pack challenge coin featuring 1 of 5 Mystical Archive art designs.
End of League:
- League 1st Place: SoS Foil Promo Pack
- League 2nd & 3rd: SoS Promo Pack
Magic Presents: Open the Archive lets players draft Secrets of Strixhaven with a unique rules twist that changes how every pod plays. Mystical Archive cards can be played in any deck, regardless of color, which opens up new strategies and makes every exciting pull a real option at the table. Each player also begins every game with an emblem that states: Mana of any type can be spent to cast Mystical Archive cards. During the draft, each player’s first pick from every pack also includes the Mystical Archive card from that pack.
