Join FFA Architecture and Interiors and our project partners for an engaging evening at the newly expanded and renovated Mt. Scott Community Center, a project rooted in community connection, sustainability, and long-term resilience. Newly open to the public, this special event offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at one of Portland Parks & Recreation’s most transformative civic projects.

Drop in for a casual happy hour, mingle with the design and construction team, and attend one or more of four guided tours, each offering a unique perspective on the project’s goals, materials, and impact:

Site & Landscape Strategies

• With FFA and Mayer/Reed, explore how the building addition’s siting honors the surrounding 11-acre park, preserves mature trees, and establishes a welcoming “cabin in the woods” presence.

Mass Timber & Carbon Storytelling

• With FFA, Bremik Construction, and Carpentry Plus, dive into the timber structure’s low-carbon construction approach and the material and design coordination behind this addition.

Systems & Resilient Design

• With FFA and PAE, learn how thoughtful MEP design supports energy performance, occupant comfort, and shelter-in-place capabilities for future climate events.

Community Engagement & Project Visioning

• With FFA and Portland Parks & Recreation, hear how stakeholder input, combined with PP&R’s commitment to the community, shaped this flexible, inclusive facility, designed to serve Southeast Portland for generations.

Tours will begin every thirty (30) minutes, and we encourage you to attend more than one, or all, if you are able.

Parking may be limited on-site, and in the nature of Sustainable Building Week, we encourage carpooling and the use of public transportation.
