The 10th annual Mt Eden Chamber Music Festival starts on 29 August with a performance of Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time with performance poet Faumuina Felolini Maria Tafuna'i. After this Beethoven features strongly for the rest of the weekend, but Grieg gets a say on Saturday night alongside the Spring Sonata, and one of NZ's favourite young composers Selina Fisher on Sunday afternoon precedes my favourite late Beethoven quartet number 15.
