MS Health and Wellness Symposium
Living with multiple sclerosis can mean navigating a constantly changing set of physical, emotional and everyday challenges. On Thursday, October 15, 2026, the Centers for Multiple Sclerosis will bring people living with MS, caregivers, healthcare professionals and community partners together for the second annual MS Health and Wellness Symposium, a complimentary day designed to help the Southwest Florida MS community learn, connect and thrive.
The symposium will feature regional experts in neuroscience, MS treatment, nutrition and fitness, giving attendees the opportunity to learn practical strategies for managing life with MS while connecting with others who understand the journey.
“MS can be an isolating disease, but no one should have to navigate it alone,” said Kay Jasso, CEO of Centers for Multiple Sclerosis. “This symposium brings the MS community together in one place to gain knowledge, ask questions, build connections and discover resources that can make a meaningful difference in everyday life.”
A Personal Message of Perseverance
The day’s keynote speaker will be Steve Doerfler, President of Persevering One Step at a Time, who will share his personal experience living with multiple sclerosis.
Drawing on his own journey, Doerfler will offer a message about resilience, purpose and the power of helping others: circumstances may change, but our ability to persevere, find purpose and make a difference can remain.
The symposium will also feature presentations from local experts, with opportunities for attendees to ask questions and engage directly with the speakers:
• Catherine Bergman, Neuropsychologist
• Dr. Matthew Baker, MS Neurologist
• Julie Hill, Nutritionist
• Georgina Percel, MS Exercise Specialist
