All ages are welcome at our Big Read Kickoff Event on the 3rd floor of the Explore More Discovery Museum! Enjoy live music provided by Nick Branson and listen to a summary of our chosen book for Big Read, Yaa Gyasi's Homegoing as well as passage readings by local celebrities like Sofia Samatar and Gbenga Adesina. Participants will also be able to pick up FREE copies (one per person) of Homegoing or your choice from a selection of children's books to read alongside other community members. Attendees may also choose to create a Story Quilt square as part of our community quilt. Delicious food and drinks will be provided by FLOCS and Beyond as we celebrate the start of Big Read! This event is for all ages and is free and open to the public.
