MR VAST
TRACY ALEXANDER RIGG
SCUNNER
MR VAST

“One of the most absurd and hilarious beings we have ever
had the pleasure of meeting, his ability to amuse and confuse
his subjects is second to none” HENGE

“Who I turn to in times of pop shite overload”
Rob Da Bank - BBC Radio 6 Music

“Listening to other people
twatting about has rarely been so
much fun” Bearded Magazine

“oh god, you´re not easy to describe you know!?”
John Higgs author of KLF the band who burned a million quid

“The maddest act we’ve ever booked..and absolute
crowdpleaser”
Paul Fletcher, Founder, Moovin Festival UK

…like a muppet version of a Philip K. Dick novel”

John Higgs, author of The KLF: Chaos, Magic and the Band who Burned a Million
Pounds, William Blake vs the World and Love and Let Die: Bond, The Beatles and
the British Psyche.
Mr Vast – aka Henry Sargeant – trained as an actor and ‘dark clown’ before
veering off into music as frontman for the legendary Wevie Stonder, dubbed by
the BBC as “the Monty Python of electronic music”. Expanding on the same brand
of anarchic comedy and wild fusion of musical influences, Mr Vast is a one-man
show that resists easy definitions: a slapstick cabaret, a surrealist happening, an
avant-garde concert, a tragicomic carnival, an ecstatic ritual.
Carrying the torch of the Great English Eccentric and music hall variety performance into the post-Brexit 21st century, Mr Vast also draws on the Theatre of the Absurd, the archetype of the fool and international folk traditions in his
weird & wonderful characters, costumes, masks and props. A metamorphic
presence and shamanic compère, Vast takes audiences on journeys into fantastic
new worlds, summoning the deepest desires and fears from our collective unconscious.
Equally at home on stage at festivals, comedy venues or nightclubs, Mr Vast
has a diverse global fanbase devoted to his unique style of off-kilter electronica
and inspired lyricism, showcased in unpredictable live sets where barriers
between performer and audience are always broken down. Behind the multiple
personalities of Mr Vast lies a deeply human, vulnerable artist seeking connection
and catharsis, one who aims to triumph over adversity with shared fun and laughter.
His new album – Up The Ante – will be released in November this year.

TRACY ALEXANDER RIGG
(OCEANALLOVER)

Tracy Alexander Rigg has been making sculpture, design, poetry and live events since 1982. These have taken a number of forms and been shown in several different countries. If there is a common thread to the style and content of these events then it must be a strong need to push boundaries around, to set foot on unknown soil and generally to play with our concepts of art outside its accepted form. He trained as an archaeological illustrator, drystone dyker, blacksmith, fine-artist, dancer and writer, timber-framer and costume maker/designer. His performance work, has been shown in many different countries and to many different kinds of people. His approach is off-beat and he has
worked with, for and alongside many leading creative artists and companies in Scotland and internationally. He runs a collaborative performance company called Oceanallover whose main preoccupation is to take imaginative and poetic work into unusual places. His performance style borrows from many influences and genres, making reference to film,
literature and popular culture.

SCUNNER

Glasgow electric music hall rapscallions, Scunner have been peddling their sinister fairground wares since 2004.
A colourful and energetic bunch, who know how to put on a show! Purveyors of Vaudeville Pop or 'Cabarock', the band are celebrating 21 years of mayhem, and this is the penultimate gig from the band.

For fans of: Tom Waits, Sparks, Alex Harvey, Mike Batt, The B-52s, Ivor Cutler.
