Meet the Panel:
Eileen Prince, an esteemed art specialist in Indianapolis schools from 1970 to 2020, is celebrated for her nationally recognized curriculum. Her award-winning programs have left an indelible mark on art education. Beyond her role as an educator, Prince is a prolific author, having penned three books: "Art Matters," "Art is Fundamental," and "Art Is Every Day." Her artistic talents extend beyond teaching, with her artwork featured in collections around the globe. Prince holds a Bachelor of Science in Education, cum laude, from Butler University and a Master's in Art Education with distinction from Herron School of Art/Indiana University. She is a sought-after consultant, workshop presenter, and conference speaker for educators nationwide.
Michelle Winkelman is an experienced arts administrator and advocate with over 15 years in community arts and higher education. As Associate Director of Career Development at Herron School of Art and Design, she mentors and coaches aspiring artists for professional success. Previously at the Indianapolis Art Center, Winkelman developed and managed programs that enhanced access to studio-based art education. She has contributed to Girls Rock! Indianapolis and advisory committees for the Arts Council of Indianapolis. Winkelman’s diverse career spans nonprofit management, curriculum development, leadership coaching, and project management. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Lake Forest College and a graduate certificate in Human Resource Development from Purdue School of Engineering and Technology. She resides in Indianapolis with her husband, who is also an arts administrator, and their two small children. Michelle has no free time, but if she did, she would use it to pursue advanced projects in knitting and crochet.
Shelley Bloch, founder and CEO of The Wall Muse, draws on decades of experience in museums, galleries, and academia. Beginning her career as a museum registrar at institutions like The Palm Springs Art Museum and the Indianapolis Museum of Art, later serving as Regional Director for the Midwest of a secondary market gallery. Active in her community, Bloch serves on the Board of Trustees for the African/African American Historical Society & Museum in Indiana and chairs the Fundraising Committee for the Association of Registrars & Collection Specialists.Her career highlights include directing the initial inventory of Eero Saarinen's historic "Miller House & Garden" and securing complete donor support for the acquisition, shipping and conservation of several artworks into museum permanent collections. She has been invited to speak at prestigious events such as Fallingwater's 75th Anniversary Symposium on modern house exhibitions. Bloch holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Master’s in Museum Studies, both from Indiana University.
