Moving Beyond Abuse 5K & Charity Walk

The 2024 Moving Beyond Abuse 5K & Charity Walk will take place Saturday October 5 at Johnson Park Piscataway. This special day offers an opportunity for our community to come together during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Side by side we will honor survivors remember victims whose lives were taken and celebrate our shared commitment to building a society where adults and children can live free from violence and injustice. Join us this day and know you are contributing to a brighter and more hopeful tomorrow for victim-survivors.

Women Aware provides free and confidential services to any victim who seeks assistance in Middlesex County. Each year Women Aware shelters 250 women and children in imminent danger; serves an additional 2000 men women and children in safety net programs including legal advocacy counseling support groups and children’s trauma reduction therapy; and responds to 9000 calls through our 24-hour toll-free multilingual hotline. Women Aware is the lead agency for the Middlesex County Family Justice Center (FJC) the first in the county and fifth in the state.
