  • Employers' legal obligations to provide a safe working environment and employees' obligations to follow safety procedures and use equipment correctly, and how these responsibilities apply in moving and handling activities.
  • Dynamic risk assessments, ergonomic approaches, and safer moving and handling principles.
  • Application of ergonomic principles to reduce strain and improve safety during moving and handling tasks.
  • Core principles of safer moving and handling, including proper body mechanics, team lifting techniques, and the use of handling aids.
  • Comprehensive training on various people moving equipment, including hoists, slide sheets, and transfer boards.
  • Best practices for equipment use to ensure both patient dignity and staff safety, with practical demonstrations and exercises.

The course content adheres to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and National Back Exchange (NBE) guidelines. It also fulfils the UK Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF) standards for healthcare providers.
