About this Event
HERE.IS.BETTER. (2023, NR, 96 min.) A soldier’s story is always personal, but never more than in HERE. IS. BETTER., a documentary film with unprecedented access inside trauma therapy sessions delivering hope to veterans battling posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Individuals featured in the film include former presidential hopeful Jason Kander, who shocked many when he left the Kansas City mayoral race in 2018 to seek treatment; a Vietnam War Veteran still haunted by events that occurred over 50 years ago; and the voices of so often overlooked female veterans, all seeking the keys to unlock their places of hurt and pain.

Movies That Matter is a FREE, bi-monthly film series that highlights important human and civil rights issues. Each event features a film screening, followed by a moderated discussion with special guests. Screenings are held in February, April, June, August, October, and December.
As the City of Fort Worth transitions away from hosting Movies That Matter, we are actively seeking another organization to continue this meaningful initiative. If you would like more information or know of an organization that may be interested, please contact Sharon Burkley at [email protected].
