About this Event

This open workshop is part of The Move Move Collaborative's celebration of our tenth cohort. Mama Sheila Gaskins and Emmett Wilson have been paired for the first open workshop of this intensive. These two workshops speak to one another and yet they are separate.

Emmett Wilson is Philadelphia based movement artist and somatic healer. Emmett has trained at University of Utah and the Headlong Performance Institute. He will facilitate a workshop to slowww down and be present with change.

Mama Sheila Gaskins is a Teaching Artist,Puppeteer, Activist, Playwright, Stand-Up Comic, Arts Advocate, Critical Response Process and Arts-based Civic Dialogue Facilitator,Cultural Worker, Author and Healer. Mama Sheila will share a workshop that dances with the connections between objects, our hands, and our memory. Please bring an object that is improtant to you or be prepared to improvise with objects in the space.

We will gather at 3:00 PM for Mama Sheila's work and then finish with Emmett's.
