WHAT IS THE PROGRAM you ask? WELL.......
The program uses physical activity to support the cognitive, emotional, social and physical development of children with various disabilities. Through guided movement, play,
and physical exercises, the program aims to enhance motor skills, improve coordination, and
foster self-confidence.
Program Goals:
1. Enhance Motor Skills: Improve gross and fine motor skills through targeted physical
activities.
2. Promote Cognitive Development: Use movement to stimulate cognitive functions, including
attention, memory, and problem-solving.
3. Encourage Social Interaction: Foster social skills and teamwork through group activities.
4. Boost Emotional Well-being: Provide a positive outlet for emotional expression and reduce
anxiety or stress by promoting self-confidence and autonomy
5. Increase Physical Fitness: Promote overall health and well-being by encouraging regular
physical activity.
Program Structure:
1. Assessment and Customization:
Every child is exceptional.
Initial Assessment:
• Conduct individual assessments to understand each child's unique needs, strengths, and limitations.
Personalized Plans:
• Develop customized movement therapy plans tailored to each child's abilities and goals.
2. Therapy Sessions:
• Infants (0-2 years): Focus on sensory stimulation, tummy time, gentle stretching, and early motor skills like reaching and grasping. Catch them small and reap the benefits of early intervention.
• Toddlers (3-5 years): Introduce simple exercises like crawling, walking, balancing, and playful movements to encourage coordination.
• Children (6-12 years): Engage in more structured activities such as dancing, obstacle courses, and team activities.
• Teens (13-18 years): Include activities that promote independence and social interaction, such as yoga, martial arts, and group games.
3. Group Activities:
• Interactive Play: Encourage socialization through games that require teamwork and communication.
• Dance Therapy: Use music and dance to stimulate both physical and emotional
expression.
• Sensory Activities: Incorporate activities that involve different textures, sounds, water
play and movements to engage the senses.
4.Progress Monitoring:
• Regular Check-ins: Monitor each child's progress and adjust their therapy plans as needed.
• Feedback Sessions: Provide feedback to parents and caregivers about the child’s development and areas of improvement.
5. Family Involvement:
Parent Workshops:
• Offer workshops to educate parents on how to support their child's movement therapy at home.
Family Sessions:
• Include family members in some sessions to promote bonding and ensure continuity of
