It’s time for a rib throw down!Benefiting the Santa Anna Ex Student’s Association for the Mountaineer Rib Throw Down and Steak Cook Off Scholarship Fundraiser to be held Saturday April the 25th, 2026 at the Santa Anna Park and Armory.
The Mountaineer Rib Throw Down and Steak Cook Off Scholarship Fundraiser will be for Santa Anna people, or those that claim to be from Santa Anna, as the head cook of a team or an individual cooker. The scholarship money raised will be for graduating Santa Anna Seniors and awarded by the Santa Anna Ex Students Association at graduation.
The main event will be pork ribs.. any kind, any way you want to cook them. Country Style, Spare, St. Louis, Baby Back, Sauce, no Sauce, Propane, Pellet, Smoked, Boiled, Baked, or Fried onsite or offsite! Your best ribs how you do them! A $25 entry fee for Ribs and $25 for Steak with 50% payback (25/15/10) to top three places and the 50% to the Scholarship. There will be a 50% Calcutta for the rib category with 50% for the scholarship. Bloody Mary and Margarita contest $10 per entry with 50% payback (25/15/10) to top three places and the 50% to the Scholarship. Kid's 14 and under Hamburger Patty and Kid's Kool-Aid contest with free entry and patty provided. Kid's awards to be determined.
Preliminary Schedule:
8:00AM Cooks meeting. All sign up forms and entry fees due at the end of the meeting. Pickup turn in boxes and cups.
10:00 Bloody Mary
11:00 Kids Kool-Aid
12:00 Kid's Hamburger Patty
1:00 Steak
2:00 Margarita
3:00 Beans
4:00 Ribs
5:00 Auction and Rib Calcutta followed by results.
Hookups are available and each team is responsible for paying for their hookup fees. Only two paid for their hookups last year so we will be collecting the hookup fees with your entries.
