Back again for another clean-up! Join us next Saturday for our first standing litter clean-up of 2026. We will be cleaning up Memorial Waterfront Park and the waterways that surround it. Protect our marshes, enjoy the park, and grab a snack afterwards.
We will have all the resources that volunteers need to participate such as litter pickers, safety vests, bags, gloves, and we also dispose of the collected litter at the end of the clean-up. Volunteers will need to bring water bottles, sunscreen, hats, and anything else needed to spend a few hours outside in the sun and elements. Memorial Waterfront Park is located at 99 Harry M. Hallman Jr Blvd and has restrooms, seating, water fountains, and shade for volunteers. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected]
Litter is unfortunately still a huge source of pollution in Mount Pleasant’s stormwater system. The stormwater system isn’t treated in the way that wastewater is. That means any litter that makes its way down a drain will then enter our beautiful creeks, rivers, and marshes. By collecting litter from our natural ecosystems, we can limit negative impacts to our wildlife and water quality.

If attending this clean-up doesn’t work with your schedule, town staff are happy to help facilitate your own event and let you borrow our clean-up supplies.
