Over a series of three separate history walks, covering Main Street from Broadway to 28th Avenue, you’ll learn about the evolution of the area, hear some intriguing stories of past residents, and discover the variety of businesses and eateries that once called Mount Pleasant's and Riley Park's Main Street home.
Mount Pleasant Historical Walking Tour: King Edward Avenue and 28th Avenue
This second walk in the series takes you through historic Sunnyside, a once semi-rural pocket that grew into a lively residential and commercial area. With its mix of old homes, quiet corners, and changing storefronts, this stretch of Main captures the feeling of Vancouver in the “good old summertime.”
- Tour Date: Saturday, July 18th, 2026
- Time: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, tours start promptly at 10 am please arrive a few minutes early for check in.
- Start Location: 27th & Main Plaza
- Tour Length: Approximately 1 hour
- Weather: Tours take place rain or shine - please bring rain gear if rain is in the forecast
- Age Recommendation: Suitable for ages 14 and up (some mature content)
About the Series: This event is Walk 2 of a 3-part series taking place on Saturday mornings. Each tour explores a different section of Main Street between Broadway and 28th Avenue. Attend one, two, or all three to experience a deeper understanding of this historic and ever-changing neighbourhood.
