So why Mount Kenya rather than Kili?
You will be lead by the incredible Rolfe Oostra from 360 Expeditions, who first fell in love with Mount Kenya as a young lad, and who still adores this mountain and has declared it as his favourite. Here is what he has to say;
"..... it’s the tranquil beauty of this mountain along with its fantastically diverse landscapes, plant and animal life and real sense of challenge which makes it a favourite with mountain aficionados. It is most likely that you and your team will not encounter anyone else as you climb through vibrant equatorial rainforest, where it is not unusual to bump into an elephant or buffalo, through dense bamboo stands and through incredibly steep sided canyons, spectacled by strange unearthly plants as you slowly climb your way to the summit of Point Lenana, the trekkers summit standing 4,985 meters above the sea. You’ll be wild camping under a vivid African sky, near trout filled lakes and in valleys surrounded by staggeringly high granite walls and summits. Mount Kenya in short, offers nothing less than a life enhancing wilderness experience."
