Mount Joy Plein Air Quick Draw

2026 marks the third year for this unique event!
Plein air (French for 'outdoors'), is the act of painting outdoors. This event encourages artists to paint in the downtown Mount Joy area. Artists are encouraged (but not required) to paint Mount Joy’s buildings as a way to capture our history. They will have 2 hours to create a work of art from scratch.
Anyone 18 or older can participate as an artist. There are cash awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
The public is welcome to watch artists as they work and are invited to see all finished pieces which will be on display at the historical society from 12:30-1:45pm. Winners are announced at 1:15.
