07:00 Arrival in Pozzallo, disembarkation from catamaran and departure to Catania
08:30 We arrive in Catania and embark on a panoramic journey up the slopes of Mount Etna. We will be passing through various interesting mountain villages and experience wonderful alpine scenery full of vegetation before passing through the volcanic areas of Mount Etna.
09:45 We arrive at the Rifugio Sapienza at an altitude of nearly 2000 metres above sea level. Here we will be able to visit a number of craters, including the picturesque Crateri Silvestri, which enjoy spectacular 360 degree views. Free time to visit the various souvenir shops or to sip a capucchino in one of the various mountain chalets or to take the chairlift (not included in price) from Rifugio Sapienza (2000 metres above sea level) to Montagnola (2500 metres above sea level) and back or to take a quad-bike tour on Mount Etna (not included in tour price). Free time for lunch (not included in tour price) on Mount Etna.
14:00 Departure from Crateri Silvestri. We will continue our panoramic drive down another side of Mount Etna until we reach the village of Zafferana Etnea, a typical mountain village on the slopes of Mount Etna whch is known as the Citta' del Miele (the City of Honey).
14:30 In Zafferana Etnea, we will visit an "azienda di apicultura" where we will attend a demonstration on beekeeping and honey production. We will have the opportunity to taste various types of genuine Sicilian honey, as also other typical products such as biscotti di mandorla (almond pastries), biscotti di pistacchio (pistacchio pastries), extra virgin olive oil in various flavours, different types of pates, as also local liquers and wines.
15:00 Departure towards Catania
16:15 Arrival in Catania. Here we will visit the Centro Sicilia shopping mall (https://centrosiciliashopping.it), a shopping paradise with around 120 shops, including also the only Primark store in Sicily as also many brands such as Adidas, Calzedonia, Desigual, Euronics, Footlocker, Geox, Guess, Tommy Hilfiger, United Colors of Benetton and much more. Here we will spend two hours of pure shopping therapy.
18:15 Departure to Pozzallo port, in time for check in and embarkation on the catamaran. Mario
