Having motivated employees and joy at the workplace is important. But what do you - as leader or employee - do to motivate those around you? In this course, we address such issues and present the latest developments in the field of motivation.
We focus on self-motivation, what creates motivation in an employee, and motivation within groups. There is also strong emphasis on the leader and which behaviors promote or hinder motivation. The lecture uses awareness-raising techniques to help leaders increasingly draw on their own strengths as motivators.
Learning Objectives:
- You will learn:
- What creates motivation in individual employees
- Group motivation: How the group can foster belonging and motivation for each individual
- Which leadership behaviors promote and hinder motivation
- Techniques to draw on yourself as a motivator
- A review of motivation-enhancing measures you - as a leader - can use in your daily work

About the lecturer Stein D. Wesenberg:
Stein D. Wesenberg is a sociologist specializing in work and organisation. He has over 20 years' experience in leadership and team development, change processes and project management from both the private and public sector. Stein is an active lecturer and since 2004 has been responsible for the leadership development program "Leadership in practice" at INDØK, NTNU. He teaches internal communication and culture at the marketing college, and has taught change management on the Master of Technology and Management (MTM) program at NHH/NTNU/MIT. Stein is very passionate about making work teams work as well as possible. In an inspiring way, he conveys advanced messages easily. Stein's communication goal is that you should be able to take with you what is learned into new practice the day after the course.
