Sound and Therapy

Sound healing works on a vibrational level. Sound healing works to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which can promote recovery as the vibrations travel to the body and gently stimulate the nervous system.

From ancient traditions of Nāda Yoga (the yoga of sound) to modern research into vibroacoustic therapy, the body, mind, and spirit all respond to the power of vibration. Many experience relief from stress and anxiety.

What You’ll Experience

• 6pm - doors open. Arrive and settle onto mats, cushions, blankets—creating your own comfort cocoon in the space.

• 6:30pm - opening with gentle qi-gong inspired movements to prepare the body for relaxation.

• 60-minute sound bath: beginning with a chakra cleanse, gently flowing into deeply resonant vibrations.

• Integration time: gentle guidance to breathe, sense, reflect, maybe journal or lie in stillness.

• 7:30 - 8pm - Closing with tea and light conversation, giving you space to share insights, come back into your body, and carry the resonance with you.

What to Bring and/or Expect:

• There are cushy rugs and cushions at Evolve Academy but for this event, we encourage you to bring your own mats, cushions, blankets... whatever you need to get really cozy!

• Comfortable clothing encouraged; loose layers recommended.

• Closed-lid water bottles and journals are always encouraged.

Facilitator Bio:

Join William Brandt for a deeply immersive sound bath, where you will be bathed in the vibrations of crystal singing bowls, gong, and other resonant instruments.

“Sound therapy has become an important part of my wellness regimen” says William, after experiencing burnout and fatigue in a demanding professional IT career. “Combining sound therapy along with Yoga and meditation, I experienced improved sleep, lower levels of stress, and began finding it easier to practice mindfulness and embrace the flow of life.”

“I went into my first sound healing not knowing what to expect, I didn’t expect to feel so calm and grounded afterward. It was, for me, unexpectedly powerful.” With a lifelong commitment to holistic wellness, William now holds space so you can simply surrender into vibration.

The Evolve Academy of Conscious Learning is located inside The Schoolhouse at 720 Magnolia Road, Suite 21, Charleston, SC 29407.

Please park on the Magnolia Road side of The Schoolhouse building and enter through the double doors labeled “Events.” Once inside, turn left and you’ll find Evolve Academy in Suite 21.

As a center for adult personal and professional development, many of our classes take place in the evenings and on weekends. If you happen to arrive late and find the exterior doors locked, simply knock gently on the window to the left of the doors—this is the Evolve classroom window. (Arriving a few minutes early is the smoothest way in.)

Evolve is a serene, cozy space designed with nervous-system comfort in mind. You’ll find calm lighting, soft rugs and cushions, warm herbal tea, and neutral tones—intentionally curated to help you feel safe, grounded, and cared for. All are welcome. We love all of our neurodivergent friends, all of our friends of various genders, sexual orientations, ethnic backgrounds, physical challenges, and more. There is a handicap accessible ramp to enter the building. This is a safe space for you.

Many of our classes are taught with our students seated on comfy cushions on the ground. If you need or would like a chair, we are happy to accommodate you.
