SYNOPSIS:
It is 1955, and the new owners of RKO Studios (famous for King Kong, Citizen Kane, screwball comedies and the Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers movie musicals) are holding a secret board meeting at The Wilburton to choose the team for one last movie. In a clash of ambition and revenge, the stars and executives compete to make one last RKO studio production. Everyone is dying to be a part of it! Will it be a romance or a thriller?
Will this swanky soiree include getting away – with murder?
Guests are invited to join the scheming stars, dance in top hats and tails, put’ on the Ritz’, take a screen test, and compare clues to try to solve the mystery of THE MILLION DOLLAR MOVIE. Dress in festive cocktail attire, Hollywood glamour, or as your favorite RKO movie character to follow the action through the grand salon, the library and the Billiard Room of the Wilburton mansion. The mystery dinner party extravaganza includes a three-course dinner, and a cash bar with themed specialty cocktails.
A professional photographer will capture portraits as a souvenir of this unique Vermont experience. Prizes for best dressed and the team who solves the mystery.
At the Friday welcome party, meet the characters and learn more about the real history of RKO Pictures and the Million Dollar Movie. Saturday, after a bountiful country breakfast, take a guided tour through the onsite Museum of the Creative Process, or join the doggie parade through Manchester Village. Salute mom with a mother’s day mimosa (mom-osa) cocktail at breakfast while dining with sweeping mountain views, in the solarium or outdoors on the terrace.
