Join us for an exciting in-person free event at Pershing Field Park on Wed., August 12, 2026. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore and observe the fascinating world of moths in their natural habitat. Whether you're a nature enthusiast or simply curious, come experience the beauty of these nocturnal creatures up close.
Check-in starts at 7:45 PM.
o Dr Kelly Zimmerman will share a wealth of moth and bug knowledge.
o Make a moth trap – you need to bring two empty 2-liter bottles.
o Put out moth bait and moth attracting lights.
Moths like the dark and it gets dark around 9:15 PM.
The event ends at 10:00 PM
It will be dark when we observe the moths, please bring a flashlight to safely move around the area.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
