Moth Night at Lorrimer Sanctuary

There are far more species of moths than butterflies and they live fascinating lives. Learn about these important creatures and see what we catch with smelly bait and light traps. We’ll begin with a learning session before the capturing. Moth Night follows National Moth Week, held annually worldwide during the last full week of July to celebrate moth beauty, ecology and habitats.

Bring a flashlight and plastic jar with a lid for catching.

This is an all-ages program; children must be accompanied by an adult.

CANCELLATION POLICY: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however registrations can be transferred to another program in the future.
