Morning Sewing, Fabric & Pattern Swap Social

This is a cozy, low-key morning gathering for local makers to trade fabric, patterns, and notions without the clutter or stress of a massive venue.

1. 10:30 AM – Arrive & Drop Off Your Stash:Check in, grab a cup of coffee or tea, and head to our main swap tables. Simply lay out your fabrics, patterns, and notions on the designated category tables.
2. 11:00 AM – Browse & Chat:Grab a biscuit and browse the shared tables at your own pace! Chat with fellow sewists about project ideas, ask questions about fabric types, and pick out materials that inspire your next project.
3. 12:30 PM – Wrap-Up & Optional Donation:Take home whatever new treasures you found. Any unclaimed items left on the swap tables at the end of the event can either be taken back home by their original owners or left in our Community Donation Box to be given to local craft programs.

• Fabric: Clean, odor-free, non-smoking fabric cuts (fat quarters, remnants, or full yardage). Wovens, knits, garment fabrics, and quilting cottons are all welcome!
• Patterns: Complete paper or printed PDF sewing patterns with instructions and structural pieces included.
• Notions & Tools: Working scissors, rulers, rotary cutters, unused thread, zippers, elastic, buttons, and trims.

• Damaged, stained, or mildewed fabrics.
• Fabrics heavily covered in pet hair or with strong odors.
• Incomplete patterns missing key pieces or rusted/broken tools.

• Label Your Fabric: If you know what your fabric is made of, pin or stick a quick note to it (e.g., "2 Yards - 100% Cotton" or "1 Yard - Linen Blend"). It helps other swappers immensely!
• Bring a Tote Bag: Don't forget a sturdy bag or basket to carry your new materials home.
• Take What You'll Use: There are no strict counts or token limits—just bring what you want to share and take what you will genuinely use!

How to find the Workshop

We are located at 39 High Bridge, Newcastle City Centre (NE1 1EW).

• Walking: We’re just a few minutes' walk from Grey Street or a 5-minute walk from Monument Metro.
• Parking: The nearest parking is at Dean Street Car Park (a 3-minute walk) or Manors Car Park.
• Entry: When you arrive, head into the alleyway where you will see a white door. The buzzer is currently being shy, so please send a quick text to 07453 480080 when you're outside, and I’ll come down to let you in!
