Bird Song Tours – 29th April, 6th, 9th & 13th May 2026
Welcome the day with the sounds of spring on a truly special wildlife experience through the beautiful Wealden countryside.
Join expert ornithologist David Campbell for an unforgettable morning aboard a heritage observation train, where birdsong provides the soundtrack to your journey. Travelling in comfort through rolling landscapes, you’ll pause at carefully selected spots to listen, watch and learn about the region’s most captivating species.
Look and listen for iconic spring visitors including nightingales, turtle doves and cuckoos, while David shares fascinating insights into their behaviour, habitats and conservation.
Your experience includes:
Return heritage train travel from Tenterden
At least three scenic stops dedicated to bird listening and observation
Expert live commentary throughout the journey
A freshly cooked breakfast with tea or coffee served on your return at the Station Refreshment Rooms
As an added bonus, your ticket also allows you to travel the full line to Bodiam by steam or diesel services on operating days — the perfect way to round off your visit.
Spaces are limited for this unique seasonal event — early booking is recommended.
