This will be a fun and completely unique morel mushroom experience! We will begin the day at the gorgeous Strains of the Earth event room with a presentation about foraging, safety, and everything you need to know to find morels. Even if you are an experienced morel mushroom hunter, I assure you will learn something new and worthwhile to help you find more morels.
Before we head out into the woods to search for morel mushrooms (and any other edible mushrooms and plants), we will enjoy a delicious lunch with morel mushrooms and mushroom beverages. There will be time to scope out the Strains of the Earth Mushroom and THC/CBD store before we head out into the woods. We will caravan to a nearby park to practice our new foraging skills. While foraging, we will not only be searching for morels, but identifying trees that are important for finding morels and looking for other edible mushrooms.
Approximate Itinerary:
INSIDE:
10:00-12pm: Morel Mushroom Hunting Presentation
12-1pm: Morel Mushroom Lunch and Mushroom Beverages (inside)
1-1:45pm: Shopping and Caravan to Park
OUTSIDE:
1:45-4pm: Foraging
3:45-4pm Review of mushrooms found
The park will be within 15 minutes of the store.
Registration Ends May 16 at noon.
Things to know:
*Please note that mushroom growth is subject to various environmental factors, and their presence during our foraging adventures cannot be guaranteed. We'll do our best to find good spots, but our goal isn't just about gathering. It's about learning so you can forage confidently on your own.
*We will be walking off-trail and on uneven terrain, however this is a very flat area so it won’t be difficult walking.
*This is a rain or shine event, but if conditions are severe, the hunt will be cancelled and credit can be used towards a future event.
*The foraging location may require a parking fee.
*If you have any food restrictions, please email us to see if we can accommodate before signing up.
*Class may be cancelled if minimum attendance is not met. You will receive a refund in this case.
*Class is rain or shine, but may be cancelled in cases of miserable or severe weather. Credit can be used towards a future event in this case.
