We are delighted to say that the famous Morcambe Bay walk is back for 2025!!!!! These walks are truely a unique experience and sell out fast so please don't delay, book today!!!It’s fun-filled day of walking across the beautiful Morecambe Bay! Lace up your shoes, put on your favourite sun hat, and get ready to make a difference with Kidneys for Life. Our annual walk is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the fresh sea air while supporting a great cause.
The walk is on varied terrain including sections of sand, shingle, pebbles, rock and salt marsh. The last part of the walk over the salt marsh involves crossing gullies, these can be quite wide and slippery. This challenging walk takes about four hours & involves crossing two river channels which are cold and sometimes fast flowing, the height of the river is usually between knee and thigh deep!
Expect breath taking scenery and sand between your toes as we navigate the bay’s unique landscape. We have once again been fortunate enough to book places on the famous route from Arnside Promenade to Grange Promenade takes around four hours to complete and we will be led by King’s Guide to the Sands, Michael Wilson. Due to the unique terrain of the Bay, we cannot guarantee the exact distance, however, on previous walks we have clocked the total at around the 8 mile mark.
The final route will be set as soon as the tide departs the shore on the day of the challenge and Michael will guide you across the Bay following a safe route.

As with any physical activity we strongly advise you consult your doctor if there is any doubt.
Will the walk definitely go ahead despite the weather?
The walk will only go ahead if it is safe to do so, the guide over sands team will fully assess the walk beforehand.
Will I get wet?
There will be areas of water that you need to wade through, shorts are recommended.
