The Moray Climate Action Network is hosting its second climate conference on 3 October, during Scotland's Climate Week.
This year, we'll be engaging with experts, expanding our knowledge, networking to build meaningful collaboration for local climate initiatives, and exploring innovation in climate action and sustainability.
We are pleased to announce the first of our confirmed speakers.
Professor Peter Stott, Met Office scientist and author of Hot Air: The Inside Story of the Battle Against Climate Change Denial.
Peter's area of expertise centres around climate modeling, studying past and predicting future climate patterns and identifying natural and human-made causes of climate changes.
Researcher Kerry McInnes from Moray University of Highlands and Islands and David Blair from the Moray Trade Union Council will be discussing in more detail the skills needed locally for Moray to transition from the oil and gas industry to renewables.
A panel of youth representatives from Moray will lead discussions.
The day also aims to explore local solutions for coastal erosion and adaptions, as well as new research into Moray's food growing potential, working towards more localised food systems.
This year the event will be co-hosted by Allan Gray, a Moray-based environmentalist - a Green Hero of the Year - and political communications manager with Zero Hour!
