Murcia’s really beautiful orchards never found a better expresion that the farming fields lying by the valley of Ricote, the spot that Moors turned into their secret hideout after their expelling was decreed by spanish Christians. Just a 30 minute ride from Murcia, this hike is a pleasant flat walk through the valley’s riverbed, flanked by a gorge that provides a dramatic scenery, for you to enjoy the smell of the fruit trees growing there. The path also takes you to the medieval village of Ojós to discover its islamic urban ground plan.
