A massive hit from director Norman Jewison ("Fiddler on the Roof"), Cher’s portrayal of Italian-American widow, Loretta Castori, won her an Academy Award for Best Actress. Believing herself unlucky in love, Loretta accepts a marriage proposal from her boyfriend Johnny (Danny Aiello), even though she doesn’t love him. When she meets Johnny’s estranged younger brother, Ronny (Nicolas Cage), an impulsive and passionate man, she finds herself drawn to him. And he to her. Olympia Dukakis, who’s portrayal of Loretta’s mother also won her an Academy Award, co-stars with Vincent Gardenia. Author Josiah Howard will introduce the film, have signed copies of his Cher biography, “Cher: Strong Enough” for purchase, and have a short Q&A. Rated PG. 102 minutes.
