Monuments & Milestones: Bringing Women’s History to the National Mall

Monuments & Milestones is a civic convening hosted by The Miami Woman’s Club that brings attention to the national effort to establish the first monument on the National Mall dedicated to women’s suffrage.

This gathering offers an opportunity to learn about the historical significance of the women’s suffrage movement, its lasting impact on American democracy, and the importance of ensuring women’s contributions are visibly and permanently recognized at the national level. Through conversation and shared insight, the event connects history with contemporary civic leadership and engagement.

The program will feature Anna Laymon, President & CEO of the Women’s Suffrage National Monument Foundation, who will provide an overview of the initiative, its progress, and what it takes to bring this historic monument to fruition.

Held in one of Miami’s most historic gathering places, Monuments & Milestones invites community leaders, advocates, and supporters to come together for a thoughtful morning of reflection, learning, and dialogue centered on legacy, leadership, and civic participation.
