Monthly Open Saphire Mining Night at Glitter & Gold Studio

When & where: Two hours in the evening on the third Thursday of every month (more or less)! Hosted at Glitter and Gold Studio in SODO, Seattle. (Come see the inner workings of an active jewelry studio!)

What: Gem hounding, friend making, and a moment to connect and relax that benifits the incredible work of The Lavender Rights Project on "advancing gender self-determination, collective safety, and community-rooted systems of care" (profits from all Glitter and Gold mining events are donated directly to the organization).

• $10 per cup of genuine sapphire gravel from Montana's Gem Mountain Sapphire Mine
• Light snack and NA beverage options provided (BYOB)

Who: Up to eight guests per event (first come, first served)! Bring a friend or come solo to meet fellow Seattlites with a passion for gems and a desire to mingle. (Check out our website to book private sapphire mining experiences as well!)

About us: Glitter & Gold is a small, independent jewelry studio owned and operated by gem hound, glitter enthusiast, and 30+ year jewelry-designing and metal-smithing veteran Mary Elizabeth Linford. She specializes in custom jewelry creation, upcycling, and repair, and hosts her sapphire mining experiences for the pure fun of it.

Mary partners with Gem Mountain Sapphire Mine to bring genuine Montana mining experiences to the heart of the city. She designed these events for gem hunters like her who can’t look up from the ground on beach walks, and will plunge their hands into icy rivers to run glittering mica sand through their fingers, dreaming of treasure. Join her at Glitter & Gold to indulge in a childhood fantasy, discover a new passion, and take home some delicious sapphires (and, if you’re extra nice, Mary’s favorite agate hunting spots out on the Oregon Coast too).
