Our meeting for March will be at the Chicopee Public Library. Address: 449 Front St., Chicopee, MA.
On March 11th the Pioneer Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited is excited to host Guest Speaker Anna Baynes who will be talking about how climate change is altering the temperature of streams and Coldwater Refugia.
Anna Baynes grew up in North Carolina loving aquatic systems and spent time snor¬keling in streams to observe behaviors of darters and shiners. Her research interests expanded to aquatic ecology, fish ecology and impacts of flow and temperature through her education. Anna received her B.S. from Elon University in Environmental and Ecological Science. She got her M.S. from University of Georgia in Integrative Conservation and Sustainability where she studied fish-habitat associations in riverine shoals. Anna is currently a PhD candidate in Allison Roy’s lab in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at UMass Amherst studying cold water refuges.
Our meetings start at 7 o’clock, and the presentation at 7:30.
You don’t have to be a Trout Unlimited member to attend the presentation.
