Due to the forecasted thunderstorms and potential for hail this evening, the Village of Montgomery has chosen, out of an abundance of caution, to reschedule the much-anticipated Wayne Messmer Quartet Concert in the Park, originally planned for June 24, to next week, Wednesday, July 1.
The safety of our residents, visitors, performers, and staff is our top priority. Wayne Messmer, the band, and the various vendors were all very willing to postpone to ensure we can enjoy the fantastic night planned for our community. We encourage all to join us next week for this special Concert in the Park to celebrate America's 250th anniversary of independence. The free event will feature the Wayne Messmer Quartet performing from 6:30-8:30P.
Join us for an evening filled with patriotic tunes and the Great American Songbook at Montgomery Park (301 N. River St.) as the Village of Montgomery presents the Wayne Messmer Quartet. Wayne Messmer isn't just the Chicago Cubs National Anthem Singer; he also covers artists like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennet, Dean Martin, and more. Join Wayne at Fox Valley Park District's Montgomery Park, located along the Fox River in historical Montgomery, IL. This free, family-friendly event is the perfect way to enjoy a beautiful summer evening with great music and a relaxed atmosphere. The park and food trucks open at 5:30, with the concert beginning at 6:30.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, family, and friends to enjoy live music at Montgomery Park. The event will feature two onsite food trucks, Grumpy Gaucho and Strawberries BBQ. The event is sponsored by the Montgomery Foundation, a nonprofit committed to supporting arts, culture, and the future of Montgomery. Additionally, the Foundation will sponsor Ice Cream with the Cops, offering free ice cream to 275 visitors from CeeCee's Sprinkles, a Montgomery-owned traveling bike ice cream cart.
Event Highlights:
- Live Music: Enjoy a stunning performance by the Wayne Messmer Quartet, bringing the Great American Songbook to life.
- Ravinia-Style Seating: Bring your chairs, blankets, and cozy up for the show. Feel free to pack a picnic and make an evening of it.
- Find free parking across the street from Montgomery Park and street throughout the downtown area.

Food & Drinks:

- Prefer takeout? Local favorites Taco Madre, Los Comales, Cooper's Hawk, Buona Beef, Gray's Mill Estate, and more offer carry-out if you call ahead.
