The Montford Point Marine Day Observance will take place 8 AM Friday, August 22, 2025 at the Montford Point Marine Memorial, 100 Montford Landing Road.
The ceremony will include a Congressional Gold Medal presentation to Montford Point Marines, who were the first African American Marines to enlist and train at the modern day Camp Johnson in WWII. The observance is free and open to the public.
Please note this date is misprinted on the City of Jacksonville 2025 calendar - the ceremony will take place August 22, not August 21.
