Held in support of the Cathedral’s In Tune Music & Organ Campaign and conducted by Gloucester Cathedral’s esteemed Director of Music, Adrian Partington, the evening promises a rich tapestry of sound, light, and sacred beauty. The Cathedral Choir will be performing Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 (Vespro della Beata Vergine) — a towering masterpiece of the early Baroque alongside world-class ensemble La Serenissima. La Serenissima are renowned for their vivid interpretations of 18th-century Venetian music and will bring this monumental work to life. About the Conductor
Leading the evening is Adrian Partington, who has served as Director of Music at Gloucester Cathedral since 2008. Under his visionary leadership, the Cathedral’s music programme has flourished. Adrian has introduced Girl Choristers, expanded the choir’s international reach, and conducted acclaimed recordings and performances with major orchestras in the U.K. and beyond. As Conductor of the BBC National Chorus of Wales, he has earned international recognition for his artistry and dedication.
