Where do the monsters under your bed go when the sun rises? Why is the loch-ness monster scarier than a scaly mermaid? And why aren’t we talking more about the haunted house epidemic?
Join Mavey Books on Monday, October 20 for a horror author panel discussing scary stories, Halloween, and why your overactive imagination isn’t even half as bad as the real thing. This event will take place at 7PM, October 20th at Char and Stave 21 Rittenhouse Place. Tickets are free. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
NICOLE M WOLVERTON is a horror and thriller writer obsessed with cryptids and gastrohorror. She’s the author of A Misfortune of Lake Monsters (2025), The Trajectory of Dreams (2013), and the upcoming Meat Sweats (2026). as well as Editor of the menopause-focused horror anthology Bodies Full of Burning (2021). ADAM CESARE is the Bram Stoker Award-winning, USA Today Bestselling author of the Clown in a Cornfield series (the basis for the hit movie), the YA psychothriller Influencer, and several other horror novels.
VINCENT TIRADO is a nonbinary Dominican born and raised in the Bronx. Their first novel, BURN DOWN, RISE UP (2022) was recognized with the Pura Belpré Award, and is a Bram Stoker and Lambda Literary award finalist. Since then, they’ve written WE DON'T SWIM HERE (2023) and a short story in the anthology, THE BLACK GIRL SURVIVES IN THIS ONE (2024). Their latest novel, WE CAME TO WELCOME YOU (2024) is now available to order. When they’re not writing new spine-chilling horrors, they can be found making another pot of coffee and harassing their cat, Bugsy.
DIANA RODRIGUES WALLACH is a lover of ghosts, historical murders, and all things spooky. She is also the author of eight YA novels, including her YA horror novels Small Town Monsters and Hatchet Girls. She currently lives in the Philadelphia area with her husband and two children.
