The Walk for Hope (formerly the Out of the Darkness Walk) is a community event dedicated to suicide prevention, mental health awareness, and support for those impacted by mental illness.The walk benefits Human Support Services (HSS) now known as Caritas —a local nonprofit providing critical mental and behavioral health services right here in Monroe County. Through HSS, free trainings, counseling, substance use treatment, and school-based therapy are reaching hundreds of individuals and families each year—regardless of ability to pay.
