In conjunction with Watermark Art Center's newest exhibit opening Friday August 7, "INVASIVE: a study of invasive plants in Minnesota", join exhibiting artist Monica Ihrke for an Artist Talk and participatory printmaking demonstration on Saturday, August 8 from 10am to 11am in Watermark Art Center's Education studio.
Ihrke’s goal is to familiarize people with the local invasive plants in their backyard. During this gathering, participants will hear about her process, learn about invasive plants, and be given the opportunity to try printmaking themselves. Ihrke is a Duluth-based artist who sets out to capture with ink on paper the invasive plants closest to her. She uses relief-printed linoleum to depict beloved and vulnerable natural and industrial spaces. There is no charge for this event. Registration is not required.

Ihrke is a recipient of the 2025 Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
Watermark Art Center is a non-profit, member-supported organization dedicated to encouraging the growth and development of art in Bemidji and the surrounding communities.
