​Katherine Stewart is an American journalist and author who has been investigating the intersection of religion, politics, policy, and education for over 15 years. Her work frequently appears in publications such as The New York Times and The New Republic. ​

Her latest book, Money, Lies, and God: Inside the Movement to Destroy American Democracy (2025), investigates the rise of anti-democratic movements in the United States, focusing on the collaboration between wealthy conservative donors, think tanks, and far-right religious organizations. This book is the third in her series on religion and right-wing politics, following The Power Worshippers: Inside the Dangerous Rise of Religious Nationalism (2020) and The Good News Club: The Christian Right's Stealth Assault on America's Children (2012). ​
