For the last film of the season, the Trail & District Arts Council presents “The Mother and The Bear” at Monday Cinema on Monday, March 9 at 4 pm at The Royal Theatre in Trail.After an accident leaves her daughter Sumi comatose, Sara travels 9,000 kms from Seoul to Winnipeg. Finding herself in the harsh, unfamiliar, and unforgiving environment of the city in the winter, Sara sets herself up in the young woman’s apartment, and discovers she doesn't really know Sumi at all.
Sara despairs about her daughter’s single status, so uses Sumi's dating app to find her daughter a boyfriend. The meddling mother embarks on a transformative personal journey of crossed wires, secret lives, and conflicting agendas.
