Two sisters, Violeta and Eva, live in California with their mother, but every summer they travel to New Mexico, to spend time with their loving but unpredictable father, Vicente.
Over four formative summers spanning adolescence to early adulthood, the sisters learn to appreciate their father for his flaws and limitations that are inseparable from his passion and tenderness.
This powerful and deeply personal directorial debut from Alessandra Lacorazza is a nuanced study of growing up within a fragmented family as the two girls develop their own identities whilst questioning their place within their families and their communities.
Winner of the US Dramatic Grand Jury Prize at Sundance.
