About this Event

Moms for Social Justice is a grassroots non-profit focused on creating a more equitable future. MSJ’s mission is simple: building a local movement of citizens to engage in, advocate for, and act in the service of social justice issues in an effort to improve the community for all generations.

We are excited to announce our new 21+ book club focused on diverse and inclusive literature. Our goal is to read and discuss fiction books and memoirs with feminist, queer, and BIPOC perspectives. We believe these perspectives provide crucial representation, foster empathy and understanding, combat bias, and validate marginalized identities.

Please join us on August 18th, 2026 at Broads lounge from 6:30-8pm to read Light from Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki.

Every meeting, we will share info about a local non profit organization or charity we suggest you donate to, follow on socials, and learn more about. Our highlighted organization this month is NAAAP-Tennessee, which you can read about here: https://tennessee.naaap.org/about-naaap/. Their mission is to inspire, develop, and connect leaders across industries and communities through networking and educational events, trainings, community service programs, and celebrations of Asian American excellence.

We plan to meet every six weeks at Broads lounge, a safe space for all. To stay connected, please follow us at @msjchatt on Instagram and FB and join our email list here: https://www.momsforsocialjustice.us/

We can’t wait to read with you!
