After a successful launch in Philadelphia in November, momondays is coming home to Toronto!!!The 'new & improved' momondays is where songwriters and other artists turn their original work into mini one-person shows — spilling tunes, backstories, and emotional tea right in your lap. And you get three of them in one night… lucky you. It’s a rollercoaster of a ride that twists and turns through heart, head, and funny bone.
This momondays features 3 incredible performers with 3 incredible stories...
Blair Packham needs no introduction (but here it is anyway). Blair was lead vocalist/guitarist for The Jitters, who enjoyed three Top Twenty singles in Canada and toured relentlessly. He has since released four albums as a solo artist, placing songs in countless TV shows and films like Dawson’s Creek, Hollywood North, Stay, and many more. As a highly respected songwriter and educator, he is the co-founder of SongStudio and has mentored many fantastic songwriters.
Blair will share his story titled 'One-Hit Wonder'. It's an honest, funny, and insightful, behind-the-curtains look at what happened after his 'big hit'! Yes, he’ll perform that hit and more!
Angela Saini brings feel-good vibes wherever she goes with her toe-tapping blend of rootsy folk-pop and sing-along storytelling. Her songs—filled with heart, courage, and joy are all about second chances and stepping into your power. And that's exactly what 'Remember Who You Are' is about. Through story and song, Angela will sweep you up in her journey into her next life chapter, standing on her own two feet for the first time and writing her own story.
Armed with gratitude for the unexpected lessons of a life redirection, she is finding herself and reclaiming her power, showing herself that anything is possible with gratitude and a whole lot of courage.
Get ready to sing along and cheer... for your own life and power!
RodneyWhittenberg enjoyed momondays Philly so much that he's flying to Toronto specially to perform for us. Lucky us! Rodney is an Emmy award-winning composer and multi-instrumentalist, educator, producer, and songwriter. He has composed music for over 34 films and TV shows, and countless dance performances. Projects include: Anthony Bourdain’s show A Cooks Tour; PBS POV Documentary The Camden 28; and horror cult classics Infested and Return to Sleep Away Camp. He's received a regional Emmy for his score for the TV Documentary Mother Dot’s Philadelphia and Best Sound Design at the Terror Film Festival for Toll Taker.
But more than anything, Rodney is one of the kindest human beings you'll ever meet. And at this momondays, he'll talk about one of the most profound experiences of his life that has shaped him into the person he is today. 'How I Discovered I was Black' is perhaps the most 'human' story you've ever heard.
