About this Event

Mold Assessment, Remediation, and Prevention Training, sponsored by the City of Brunswick Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and FEMA.

Join us for a hands-on training led by Dr. Ginger Chew, Senior Scientific Advisor at the CDC, who has led mold investigations after major disasters including Hurricanes Katrina, Sandy, Harvey, and Ida.

This training will help you:

  • Understand how mold grows and its health impacts.
  • Learn to identify, reduce, remove, and prevent mold growth.
  • Prioritize repair and remediation of moisture-related damage.
  • Explore ventilation and building design factors that influence mold risks.
  • Gain hands-on experience with mold assessment tools and devices.

Who should attend? Homeowners, renters, landlords, contractors, facilities managers, building operators, volunteers, and anyone looking for practical strategies to address mold damage from Hurricane Helene.

When: January 9th, 10:30-Noon

Training will be held in the Brunswick-Glynn County Library Conference room, first door to the right as you enter the library.

Library and street parking is readily available.
