7 centuries ago these words inter-woven with soulful music sung by Khwaja Amir Khusrau and his band of 'Qawwal Bachchas' (Qawwali Singers) rang out to celebrate the onset of Spring and thus began a beautiful tradition world-over at 'Chishti Dargahs'....a true testimony to the 'Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb' of India..."Sufi Basant" is a 700+ years old legacy of Sufiyana Celebrations coinciding with "Basant Panchami" (Hindu festival of Spring) which comes alive with exhilaration as the Qawwal Bachchas singing with high spirits take you to another level of consciousness!!!
On this auspicious occasion DBF like each year brings to you this unique "Rasa" of our lovely city....delving deep into a living tradition that celebrates life & nature's bounty and celebrates the universal brotherhood of communities irrespective of religion!!!
